Campton, NH — November 22 — Department On Saturday, Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue, located at 186 NH Route 49, Campton Station, responded to a chimney fire that had spread into the attic of a two-story house on Thornton Gore Road. Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid dispatch stated that the caller had evacuated all occupants before crews arrived. Due to the distant location and labor-intensive work, firefighters requested a First Alarm and a Second Alarm after discovering an active fire in the attic. While a second team managed an addition in an adjacent part, crews in the main house pulled ceilings to reach the fire. Some businesses were relocated for station coverage, while mutual help partners from other local departments provided assistance. Smoke alarms are credited with early discovery, and no injuries were reported.
