Danbury, CT — November 8 —In order to prepare for full-time service, three Danbury Fire Department recruits are presently enrolled in Connecticut Fire Academy Class #76, where they are completing fifteen and a half weeks of basic firefighting training. The Litchfield County Regional Fire School in Torrington hosted three days of live-fire drills for the class last week. Deputy Chief Shawn McGee attended one of the training sessions to watch the recruits use their newly acquired abilities in practical settings.
After completing the program, recruits Gino DeGiorgio, Timothy Carlton, and Casey Klaneski are expected to return to Danbury Fire for full duty in early December. The department is proud of its development and eager to have them join the station as licensed firefighters.
