Campton, NH — October 30 — As Halloween approaches, Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue has responded to eighteen situations since Thursday, October 30. In the Waterville Valley, storm conditions led to four fire alarm activations, two medical events, one hazardous materials response, and eleven calls for trees or wires down over local roads. While other units responded to further calls, Engine 4 and Ambulance 2 were committed out of town for the hazardous operation. An Ashland engine and a Plymouth ambulance provided mutual aid to Station 1 in order to sustain coverage. Responders advise vehicles to stay vigilant after dark since it may be difficult to notice felled trees and wires due to the anticipated second round of wind.
