Gorham, NH — November 21 — The final exam for the Gorham-hosted fall Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program ended this week, capping months of instruction for healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their certification. 24 students from various departments in the area participated in the lesson, which was led by Becker Training Associates staff. New clinical skills, such as IV administration, extra drugs, and increased patient evaluation responsibilities, are introduced at the AEMT level. Over 200 hours of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and clinical practice on ambulances and in emergency rooms were all necessary for the course. EMT Courtney Boissonneau, EMT Timothy Currier, EMT Matt Mignone, Lieutenant Jessica Lozeau, and Chief Philip Cloutier are the five Gorham NH Fire & EMS personnel that are now qualified to take the National Registry exam.
