Arkport, NY — November 10 — At 12:41 a.m., Arkport Hose Co. #1 Inc. was dispatched to assist South Dansville Volunteer Fire Company #1 with a structure fire on Stage Road in the Town of Dansville. The box was assigned as a complete response. Engine 69 and Tanker 9 responded.

South Dansville's first arriving engine reported a fire in the ceiling. Fremont Fire was also dispatched for mutual aid, and Car 18 verified an internal attack. Cars 202 and 271 from Arkport entered the structure upon arrival. The fire was restricted to one bedroom, with a small expansion into the attic. Car 2 drove Tanker 9, and Car 201 responded to the station. Car 18 requested standby coverage at Fremont Fire Hall, so Perkinsville Fire responded. On a frigid, snowy morning, firefighters performed a fast knockdown and overhaul. The Steuben County Fire Investigation Team assumed the investigation.
