KEENE, NH — November 18 — The Lt. Joseph P. Di Bernardo Memorial Foundation provided advanced live-fire training in New York for nine members of Professional Firefighters of Keene IAFF Local 3265. Participating in scenario-based training on cellar fires, first-due operations, technical rescue, and commercial and residential disasters were firefighters from all over the nation. Communication, safety, and coordinated movement in actual fire situations were all stressed during the training. On their own time and at their own expense, Keene firefighters took part to enhance their emergency response skills at home. The department stated that in order to remain ready for a variety of fireground issues, continuous professional development is still crucial.
