LINDENHURST, NY - During the afternoon hours of November 11th, the Lindenhurst Fire Department responded to reports of a house on fire on Granada Parkway. The West Babylon Fire Department was alerted for a dual response engine as the Babylon Central Fire Alarm was taking multiple calls on the alarm.

Upon the arrival of 1-6-32, he relayed a working fire to BCFA. Upon the arrival of first due Engine 1-6-6, they stretched a cross-lay and started a fire attack. Upon the arrival of Engine 1-6-2, they supplied Engine 1-6-6 and stretched a second line. Upon the arrival of Truck 1-6-4, they split their crew into a search team and an exterior team. All searches were negative. Upon the arrival of West Babylon Engine 1-9-8, they laid in from the hydrant on the corner of Oak Avenue and Lido Parkway and stretched a line to the four side.

The crew from Engine 1-6-3 utilized 1-6-6’s bumper line to knock down hot spots and fire on the four side. A total of four lines were operated, as well as a deck gun for a short period of time. Mutual aid consisted of the Copiague Fire Department for the Rapid Intervention Team (1-3-3), North Lindenhurst Fire Department for an engine (1-11-2), and West Babylon Fire Department for an auto engine (1-9-8).

A Town of Babylon Fire Marshal was requested to the scene (1-0-45), and Suffolk County Police Arson was also requested to the scene priority three. The fire was located on the 3/4 side and on the first and second floors of the dwelling. Units operated under Lindenhurst Fire Department 2nd Assistant Chief Robert Santos (1-6-32).
