November 19, 2025 — Over the past two weeks, approximately 30 members of the Lincoln Fire Company Station 16 successfully completed Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training. As a designated rescue company, Lincoln volunteers are frequently assigned RIT responsibilities when responding as mutual aid, making this specialized preparation essential. Rapid Intervention Teams are dedicated solely to rescuing firefighters who become injured, trapped, or face life-threatening emergencies during fireground operations. The training focused on developing and reinforcing the advanced skill sets required to perform these rescues efficiently and safely. The company emphasized that continued education and preparedness remain vital to protecting both the community and fellow firefighters.
