This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

JAMESTOWN, NY - On November 16th, the Jamestown FD was dispatched to 1061 Allen Street. A Jamestown police officer went on scene and reported a working fire.

From the beginning, crews worried about the possibility of the fire spreading to other nearby locations, as well as possible explosions.

Board of Public Utilities workers were called to the scene almost immediately to cut high-tension lines near the location. In addition, barricades were placed around the site of the fire due to heavy traffic from onlookers who wanted to view the destruction.

So dangerous was the incident that employees in the Artone building at 1089 Allen St. were forced to exit the location later in the afternoon.

Mutual aid departments from Falconer and Celoron were called in for their ladder trucks. Car 1 requested a tanker task force which consisted of Gerry, Kennedy, Frewsburg, Sinclairville, Panama, Ashville and Kiantone. Lakewood's ladder truck stood by at Jamestown Station 1.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
