Scranton, Pa. — October 28 — Fire Prevention Officer Dan Frantz spoke with area students as part of Scranton Firefighters' ongoing Fire Prevention Month outreach to educate them the fundamentals of safely evacuating during an emergency. Knowing two routes out, remaining low in smoke, and knowing what to do when an alarm goes off were the main topics of discussion. The visit bolstered the department's continuous efforts to raise community awareness of early safety.

These initiatives are supported year-round by the department's Office staff, which consists of the Deputy Chief, Fire Prevention Officer, two Inspectors, Assistant Chief of Training, and Administrative Captain. In order to promote safe operations and lower community risk throughout Scranton, this team oversees inspections, training, outreach, and investigations.
