Scott Township, Pa. — October 22 — Following reports of a ruptured CO2 tank, which prompted an immediate building evacuation, Justus Volunteer Fire Company arrived to PharmaCann. Crews discovered that a sizable external tank was actively leaking while units were responding, and Chief 28-A extended the evacuation area because of strong winds. Before the Lackawanna County EMA arrived and asked Eagle Hazmat and Airgas personnel to help with the situation, Stations 28 and 36 staged.

An Airgas technician secured the leak and safely depressurized the system after around ninety minutes. After that, firefighters from Stations 28 and 36 went inside to finish air monitoring and make sure it was safe for workers to go in. Before leaving, units stayed on the site for slightly over two hours.
