Dallas Fire-Rescue Prepping for Deployment to California

Dallas, TX - In response to a State of Texas Assistance Request (STAR) from the State of California, Dallas Fire-Rescue will be sending personnel and resources to help battle their current outbreak of wildfires.

Firefighters are currently prepping equipment at the DFR Training Facility, located at 5000 Dolphin Road, before they officially deploy. One task force totalling 20 firefighters (17 from DFR and 3 from Lewisville FD) will be departing with 1 - Type 1 Fire Engine; 2 - Type 3 engines; 1 - Type 6 engine; 1 Tactical tender and 1 Task Force Leader Vehicle.

This team is only a small part of an overall response from the State of Texas consisting of 200 firefighters, making up 10 task forces and staffing 50 different types of fire engines.
