HEILWOOD, Pa. — October 17 —During Fire Prevention Month, the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Company visited Penns Manor Elementary School to teach fire safety to students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Students were given the opportunity to examine the fire engine as firefighters showed off their equipment and talked about safety procedures.

The session was led by Firefighter Tony Shultz, Firefighter Nate Gill, Captain Amy Muir, and Safety Officer Paul Demi. Teachers Mrs. Horn and Mrs. Clement were praised by the department for helping to prepare children and support fire safety education throughout October.
