Burtonsville, Md. — October 15 — The Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-alarm apartment fire in Laurel, Md., early after midnight. Fire units arrived to find flames extending through the roof and between multiple three-story garden-style buildings. Engine, Truck, and Rescue Squad 715 operated for more than two hours before the fire was brought under control.
Mutual-aid support from surrounding departments played a key role in containing the blaze and protecting the broader complex. The incident again highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination and rapid deployment in large-scale fires.
