Brookhaven, NY- On Saturday October 17, 2020 at about 1:48 PM the Brookhaven FD and South Country Ambulance Company were both activated for a vehicle crash on Horseblock Rd at Yaphank Ave. Brookhaven FD Responded to the scene with Rescue 3 and Engine 9. On arrival firefighters found a vehicle that took out a cross walk button and overturned on the grassy shoulder. The officer of Rescue 3 advised that there was no one trapped in the vehicle. It was determined that the vehicle just needed to be secured. South Country Ambulance transported the patients to Long Island Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the way the vehicle was positioned Suffolk County PD 5th Precinct officers requested that ESU be dispatched. Once they arrived ESU officers were able to move the vehicle and upright it until the tow arrived. The on ramp to Sunrise Highway was then able to be reopened.
