Apartment Building Fire in East Greenville

East Greenville, Sept. 30 2021, 9:26 AM ---East Greenville, Pennsburg, and Red Hill fire companies were dispatched to an apartment building fire at 426 Main St. in East Greenville. Upon arrival the first responders had a heavy smoke condition that was coming out of the roof. The Upper Perk Police helped to evacuate the tenants and the pets from the building. A second call was put in to County Radio to dispatch more companies for manpower. The fire was brought under control within the hour. There was heavy overhaul to follow. On the third floor was a wood working shop. Cause of the fire is pending the outcome of the investigation. Assisting the above companies were fire companies from Green Lane, Eastern Berks, Hereford and Milford. EMS from Upper Perk and Harleysville and fire police from all of the local fire companies.
