NEWBURGH, NY - The City of Newburgh FD responded to a reported structure fire at 169 Renwick Street on September 17th. On arrival fire was seen coming out of a second-story residence. A second-alarm was transmitted, bringing to the scene West Point with their ladder, Air National Guard with an engine, and Cornwall on Hudson with a ladder. New Windsor's engine was on stand by at Fire Headquarters. Firefighters on scene used hand lines and ladder operations to knock down the fire. City of Newburgh Police blocked off the area around the scene while crews operated. Mobile Life ALS and Deputy Orange County Fire Coordinator 36-14 were also at the scene. Central Hudson was called for a power cut. Two dogs were rescued from the structure. The fire is now under investigation.
