Seminole County FD Presents Years of Service Award to Sanford resident Lt. Kevin Sims and Lake County resident FF Shane Degler

Recently, Seminole County Fire Department (SCFD) Chief Otto Drozd III presented a 20-year service award to Firefighter Shane Degler and 25-year service award to Lt. Kevin Sims for proudly serving the Seminole County Fire Department.

Lt. Kevin Sims:

-Home station at Station 41 (C Shift) proudly serving the Sanford area in Seminole County

-Tampa native and currently resides in Sanford

-Started his fire career in the City of Winter Springs working in two stations there

-Seminole State College of Florida EMT and Paramedic grad Seminole State College of Florida - Center for Public Safety

-Served in the reserve U.S. Marine Corps for 14 years

-SCFD Honor Guard Member

-Proud father of three children and one grandchild


Firefighter Shane Degler:

-Home station at Station 42 (C Shift) proudly serving Geneva

-Hometown of Cape Coral, FL and resides in Lake County

-Served nine years on SCFD Tower Team on Tower 27 in Winter Springs

-Over a decade on SCFD Tanker Team where he currently serves
-Fire/EMT grad from Lake Technical College and AA degree from Valencia College

-Proud father of 13-year-old daughter and son of awesome mom Sharon Degler
