FALMOUTH, MA - Around 5:30 P.M. on August 30th, Falmouth Engines 24 and 25 responded to a mulch fire at the Blacksmith Shop Farm on Blacksmith Shop Road.

Engine 25 reported that a large pile of mulch was burning. Because the fire was difficult to contain, a large piece of equipment was called in to get to the seat of the fire. Engines 21, 22 and 23 were requested, along with Ambulance 39. Joint Base Cape Cod Engine 410 responded and stood by at a hydrant.

Firefighters were on the scene for about four hours.
