Visually Impaired Children Visit Daytona Fire Station

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Daytona Beach Firefighters recently welcomed a group of blind and visually impaired children to one of their stations for a visit. Since the children rely mostly on touch and sound, the firefighters used different methods to show them the tools and gear on the truck. The firefighters let the kids feel the tools and listen to the noises they make and also let them sit in the driver's seat of the engine. The children were also able to take turns spraying water.
