Water Rescue Conducted in the Bellport Bay

Brookhaven, NY - On May 24th, the Brookhaven FD, Bellport FD and South Country Ambulance were activated for a reported water rescue in the Bellport Bay. There were reports of a small boat that was in distress with four souls on board. Bellport Boat 5-1-26, Brookhaven's boat and multiple engines were called out. Bellport’s boat was on scene first and able to successfully secure the four occupants of the small craft as well as the boat itself. They were met by SCPD Marine Mike whose crew took the four souls as well as their boat and brought them back to the Smith Point Marina which was near where they launched from initially.
