Garfield, NJ - On May 28th around 1 am, Garfield FD was dispatched to 89 Jewell Street on a reported fire from multiple calls. When the chief arrived on the scene residents were fleeing from the building and fire was showing from the second floor delta side. A general alarm was sounded and mutual aid was called to the scene and to stand by at firehouses. A FAST team from Wallington was called and the fire was placed under control in 1 1/2 hours. There are no reports of any injuries and all residents were found safe.
