Fast Action Stops Brush Fire from Reaching Woods Along Route 322

Mays landing, NJ - Laureldale Fire/Rescue was dispatched to a large brush fire along Route 322 at the corner of Taminnen Road, where dry conditions and wind posed a serious threat for rapid fire spread.


Upon arrival, Utility 18-34 crews encountered an active fire moving through brush and quickly deployed suppression efforts to contain the flames. Their swift actions successfully halted the fire’s progression before it could extend deeper into the nearby wooded area.


Mays Landing Fire Department and the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service assisted with containment and ensuring the perimeter was secure.


With ongoing dry weather and elevated wildfire risk, incidents like this highlight how quickly fires can grow and the importance of early intervention
