Attic Fire Displaces 2 Families

Shortly after 8pm on Friday, May 20, 2022, the Windsor Locks Fire Department was dispatched to 11 Patty Lane for a reported attic fire. Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the dwelling and active fire in the attic. A significant smoke condition was also found coming from the adjoining dwelling (9 Patty Lane), but the quick actions of the firefighters kept the fire contained to 11 Patty Lane. Engine 9 from Bradley International Airport Fire Department responded as a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and Eversource responded to secure power and natural gas to the two dwellings. Windsor Locks Police Department, Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance Corps, Windsor Locks Office of Emergency Management and the Windsor Locks Building Inspector also assisted on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
