CASTORLAND, NY — April 4th — A reported unlawful fire near a structure prompted the Castorland Fire Company, located at 5187 State Route 410, to react at 9085 Ridge Road in the Town of Denmark. Tanker 2, Engine 1, Engine 2, and Rescue were sent out. The homeowner was burning rubble from a building near exposures when Engine 2 and the chief arrived. To stop the debris from spreading, workers used handlines and put out two piles.
As Beaver Falls firefighters set up a water supply using a nearby dry hydrant to support tanker shuttle operations, more units helped with operations. An enforcement officer was needed because there was a burn restriction in place. Beaver Falls units were released following overhaul and extinguishment. After repackaging hose lines, Castorland workers were unharmed and went back to work.
