Commercial Residential Fire at Masonic Home of Virginia

Henrico County, Virginia - March 11, 2021 - Just after 3:00 A.M., Henrico Fire units responded to the Masonic Home of Virginia, off Nine Mile Road in the east end. Henrico 911 Emergency Communication Center received a call for smoke coming from a laundry room. While units were responding, a second alarm was assigned to provide additional fire personnel if needed.

Fire personnel arrived to find black smoke and water coming from a residential hallway. The Masonic Home staff was in the process of moving residents to a safe location in the structure. A fire had occurred in a laundry room, where the automatic fire suppression system had contained the fire. Fire personnel assisted with relocating 10 residents from the affected hallway. There are no injuries to the residents or staff.

Fire personnel will be on scene assisting with water and smoke removal.Henrico Fire Marshal’s are on scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
