Holtsville, NY - On Monday afternoon, March 1st, the Holtsville FD was activated for a reported structure fire at 6 Diane Ct. Upon arrival smoke was showing from what looked to be the second floor and a mutual aid plan was activated for Ronkonkoma and Farmingville to respond to the scene. As units arrived a male covered in soot appeared and was immediately treated on scene with o2 by medical techs. Moments later firefighters escorted the family dog, also covered in soot, from the fire building and treated the dog with o2. The dog was then reunited with the homeowner before he left for the hospital. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack, quickly bringing the fire under control.
