Motel Fire in Henrico County

Henrico County, VA - On February 27th, Henrico Fire units responded to the 5400 block of Williamsburg Road, across from Richmond Airport. Henrico 911 center received a call for a motel room on fire at 8:55 P.M. A total of 10 Fire units were assigned to the fire.

Henrico Fire arrived to find fire and smoke from a first level room, with smoke and heat extending to the adjacent rooms. Henrico Police were on scene assisting evacuating guests.

All occupants were evacuated safely. Richmond Airport provided shuttle buses for the motel guests to gather during fire department operations. Most guests will be allowed to occupy their rooms tonight.

Five rooms, which include 16 people will be displaced from their rooms. The motel staff has provided housing to those individuals.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
