February 18, 2026 — Two firefighters from Andover Fire Rescue, both members of the Northeast Massachusetts Technical Rescue Team, participated in advanced ice rescue training during the week.

The hands-on training focused on vehicle and victim extrication from icy water conditions, reinforcing specialized techniques used during cold-weather emergencies. Scenarios included rescuing occupants from a partially submerged vehicle and coordinated victim removal from unstable ice surfaces.

Participation in regional technical rescue training ensures Andover firefighters remain prepared to respond to complex incidents requiring specialized skills and equipment.
