JESUP, GA — February 20th — Wayne County EMA, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, the Jesup Police Department, the Jesup Fire Department, Wayne County 911, the City of Jesup Downtown Development Authority, and nearby businesses participated in a community emergency drill held by Wayne County Emergency Medical Services, located at 201 Hinson Mosley Road, Jesup, GA, 31545. Coordination, communication, and scene management in a downtown setting were the main objectives of the exercise.

Participants worked on resource coordination, patient triage, and unified command. Joint training, according to officials, increases preparedness for situations like mass casualty disasters, extreme weather, and sizable public gatherings. Additionally, the exercise improved response agencies' situational awareness and collaboration. According to leaders, regular multi-agency drills facilitate clearer communication, quicker reaction times, and safer outcomes for both residents and guests.
