Pets Rescued at 2 Alarm Fire

Fall River, Ma. On Thursday February 19th around 1:30 pm firefighters responded to 99 Aetna St. for smoke coming from an electrical outlet. On approach, Engine 4 reported smoke showing. On arrival Command reported all occupant accounted for and called a working fire in a six family wood frame structure. Firefighters had heavy smoke showing from the third floor and flames showing from the windows on the C side. Firefighters rescued several pets but two dogs perished in the fire. Command called for a second alarm and to have the Fire Investigation Unit and the Building Inspector respond to the scene.
