Bernardsville, New Jersey — 28th December — On a first-alarm Box 40-01P assignment, the Bernardsville Fire Co. No. 1 & First Aid Squad was sent to a structure fire in Bernards Township. With a crew of six, Chief 22, Deputy Chief 22, and Engine 22-3 responded.

Crews were assigned to interior operations as soon as they arrived, helping to open ceilings and walls to reveal buried flames and check for extension. Firefighters supported suppression and overhaul operations while working on the scene for around two hours. A swift knockdown was accomplished by the Liberty Corner Fire Department and the Lyons VA Fire Department, which helped prevent additional damage. In order to maintain operational coverage and manage working fires, mutual assistance responses are crucial.
