Readsboro Fire Department Holds Annual Meeting, Elects 2026 Officers
Jan. 3, 2026 — The Readsboro Fire Department held its annual meeting Saturday evening at the American Legion in Readsboro, bringing together members, families and supporters to reflect on the past year and look ahead to 2026.
Department leadership extended sincere thanks to the Sons of the American Legion for donating their time and preparing a meal for the evening. Members noted the importance of that continued support and expressed appreciation for everything the organization does for the local community.
Special recognition was also given to the firefighters who volunteer countless hours in service to the Town of Readsboro, often sacrificing time with family and work to answer calls. The department additionally thanked the women who support the organization behind the scenes, from providing coffee during emergency responses to making donations that help purchase critical equipment the department otherwise could not afford.
During the meeting, the department conducted its annual election of officers. Elected for 2026 were Chief Adam Codogni, 1st Assistant Chief Bill Wheeler, 2nd Assistant Chief Andrew Massari, 1st Captain Carl Marchegiani, 2nd Captain Andrew Marchegiani, 1st Lieutenant David Marchegiani, 2nd Lieutenant Bob Matte, Safety Officer Lance Howard, 1st Rescue Captain Caraline Sprague and 2nd Rescue Captain Omar Smith.
The department says the strong turnout and continued community support highlight the shared commitment to keeping Readsboro safe.
