RICHMOND, RI — April 12th — The Richmond Carolina Fire District trained its junior firefighters in the use of self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBAs).

Under supervision, participants practiced appropriate donning and doffing procedures, learned system functionalities, and reviewed SCBA components. Training sessions like this help build familiarity with equipment that is critical for interior firefighting and safe operations.

Members also participated in controlled, on-air exercises that required mobility and coordination while utilizing SCBA in order to strengthen skills and teamwork.
