Bedford, NH - Members of Bedford Fire Department’s Shift 4 recently conducted hands-on search and rescue training focused on locating and removing an unconscious patient in simulated fire conditions.
Crews operated beneath a mesh covering designed to replicate the thermal layer of heat, smoke, and hazardous gases, requiring firefighters to stay low to the ground to maintain visibility and enhance life safety.
The training emphasized proper positioning, coordination, and technique in challenging, low-visibility environments.
