On Saturday October 17th 2020 Suffolk County Police Department sector car 762 was trying to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle when it fled in the officer. The vehicle fled from the officer to a home on Locust Drive in Mastic Beach. The suspect then got out and ran on foot and lead police on a foot chase eventually the police would loose the suspect. Units set up a parameter and had a helicopter look in the sky down to try and locate the suspect. Suffolk County Police Department Canine Units were requested to try and locate the suspect. The vehicle was towed away on a Suffolk County Police Department wrecker for a evidence impound. After 45 minutes the search was called off and all units took up. No arrest were made. No injuries were reported.
