The Westerlo FD held a brush fire drill on Saturday, April 24th. A portion of brush along a property on Sherman Lane was burned. The department utilized an engine, their brush truck and UTV for the drill and trained some newer members as well. As crews were packing up at the drill, they were dispatched to a call for wires burning right around the corner. The pole and wires were checked and crews cleared that scene awaiting the utility company.
