FIRE TRUCK IS LOCATED IN SARASOTA, FL. This auction is for a 2004 Pierce Quantum 61’ Sky Boom Ladder, the current mileage is 74,495. It starts and runs and was decommissioned in January 2018 in accordance with our departments vehicle replacement program. Our department purchased it brand new from the factory in 2004. It has received its regularly scheduled maintenance by our local Pierce dealer. All service and repair records since it's date of manufacture are available for review. The motor is a Turbo charged Series 60 Detroit Diesel 6 cylinder 778 cu inch engine rated at 430HP@ 2100 rpm with 1550 pounds of torque. Top speed is governed at 64 mph. The pump is a single stage 1500 GPM CSUY Waterous centrifugal pump with a 750 gallon water tank. This truck seats 5 crewmembers – Driver plus(4) SCBA Seats. The air conditioner is fully functional and blows cold air. The body has no corrosion and the paint is a 9 out of 10. The Allison model EVS 40000 PR automatic transmission shifts smoothly and firmly, transmission brake retarder is fully functional, the hydraulic ladder rack is fully functional. It comes with Tak4 Suspension System, (2) 100’ Electrical Reels, Hydraulic driven Harrision 10.0 MAS 10 KW Generator, no smoke exhaust system, and an auto lube system. The vehicle is 36’ 8” long , 12’ high and 8’ 3” wide. GVWR is 51,000 pounds and wheel base is 243 inches. The skyboom extends 51 feet from the turntable. The following is the list of known issues, to the best of our knowledge everything else works. Aerial Ladder Testing was performed by an independent third party testing company in June 2017 and passed it testing. The ladder raises ,lowers, extends retracts and flows water without issue. The communication ring is need of replacement . This ring controls the up/down and left /right movement of the master stream nozzle tip. Currently the nozzle controls work intermittently approximately 75% of the time. Our local Pierce Dealership (Ten-8 Fire Equipment ) estimates repairs to be approximately $14,000 to $16,000 to complete) The nozzle can be re-positioned manually from the tip by using a hex wrench to rotate the gears into position. Annual pump testing was performed by an independent third party. The pump passed it test and maintains a 1500 GPM Rating. The pump primer is in need of replacement. There are miscellaneous air leaks which require the truck to be started and idled for 30 seconds to a minute to bring the air system up to pressure before moving the truck. Tires have approximately 90% tread left and new rear brakes were installed in July of 2017 . Again other than the items listed above to best of our knowledge everything else is fully functional.
