Firefighters transfer 2300 gallons of water from Tanker 6008 to Stafford Township’s 4761.

Donald Wallis, who passed away in the line of duty in December of 2007, would be proud to know that his tanker is still running strong.

On August 24th Tanker 6008 from the Forked River Fire Department responded mutual aid to Barnegat for a structure fire. An abandon restaurant was in a remote section of Route 72 which required water shuttle operations. The “Super Tanker” delivered 2300 gallons of water to the scene for firefighting operations.

Earlier in the month, on August 16th, the 1968 Ford Great Eastern Tanker won first place for best appearing tanker at the Jackson Mills Housing.
