Forked River 6029 being judged for Best Appearing Brush Truck

Forked River Firefighters conduct one last check of 6008 before being judged for Best Appearing Tanker.
6029 took 2nd place in Best Appearing Brush Truck
6008 took 1st for Best Appearing Tanker. The Apparatus is a 1968 Great Eastern
On August 16, 2008 Jackson Mills held a Housing/Wet down for it's new 100 ft Seagrave Aerial 5405. Members of the Forked River Fire Department were on hand to help celebrate as well as compete with other apparatus from the area. Forked River walked away with a 2nd place for Best Appearing Brush Truck which is a 2005 Ford F-450 that was designed after the New Jersey Forest Fire Units in operation throughout the state. Forked River then took home a 1st place for unit 6008 which is a 1968 Ford Great Eastern Tanker.The Tanker was in it's first competition since the passing of F/F Donald Wallis who was the Chief Engineer for the unit.
