TOWN of NEWBURGH, NY - On Saturday evening, Feb. 4, the Winona Lake Engine Company of the Orange Lake Fire District held its Annual Installation Dinner at Spruce Lodge in Coldenham. Well over a hundred were in attendance, including representatives from area fire departments, EMS, and police agencies. Additionally, NY State Assemblyman Thomas Kirwan also attended this formal gala event.
Throughout the night, several presentations were made by chief officers, along wtih awards for "Man of the Year" and the top ten responders for 2005. The new 2006 Line Officers elected by the membership are Chief Tim Pillsworth, Assistant Chief Anthony Weed, Captain Andrew Colurciello, 1st Lieutenants Tim Decker and Richard Bartley Jr., and 2nd Lieutenant Christopher Leonido.
The 2006 newly elected social officers are President Richard Nosek, Vice President John Lassiter, Treasurer Daniel Holt, Corresponding Secretary John Nosek and Recording Secretary Joseph Dubaldi. Trustees are David Dominick, Michael Clegg, Russell Barger, Kevin McDonald, Thomas Hoey Jr, Stephen Moore and Wilfred Roy.
Winona Lake Officers reported a very busy 2005. During that time, 566 calls were logged, totalling over 5,817 manpower hours. This was the busiest year on record for the history of the department. Additionally, drill manpower hours tallied over 891 hours.
A formal buffet-style dinner took place for all those in attendance. Many thanks were sent out to those who helped make the past year successful in many ways. It was also noted that the Ladies Auxilary made a presentation with a check to the department members for $1,000 to be used for kitchen supplies at the station. Dancing and music followed by DJ Mike Lynn and Emcee Bohannan.
