Fire Fighters check for extension on the exterior of the house at the electric meter
An electrical fire at 66 Pond View Avenue was tackled by Needham Fire Fighters just about 12 noon. The fire was apparently caused when a cable service workman struck the electrical service.
Command requested a working fire assignment and NSTAR to the scene immediately to shut the power down to the house. Once the service was shut off, Fire Fighters were able to open the area around the exterior electric meter with saws and axes to check for extension.
The fire was controlled using dry powder extinguishers and damage to the house appears minimal. The worker was not injured though quite shaken up.
