NJ Forest Service crews continue to fight a fire in Wharton State Forest, as it remains a dynamic situation. Overnight, as many crews had worked for twenty-four hours got some needed rest, others remained on the fire line, at the Incident Command Post, and in direct support. On Sunday morning, firefighters, State Police, Fire Police, Emergency Management officials, EMS and the Salvation Army returned in number, and after a briefing, and an overview by ICP staff in a Forest Service helicopter, returned to work on the summer fire. Route 206 remained closed on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
