FARMINGVILLE, NY - At 4:15am on May 28, 2006 the Farmingville Fire Department received a call for a structure fire next to #24 Sycamore Ave.
Upon arrival of Chief Bobby Wallace a signal was transmitted for a working fire, with a corrected address of #20 Sycamore Ave. This was the scene of a working fire just 6.5 hours prior.
The first fire was confined to one bedroom on the second floor and a small portion of the attic. This fire consumed most of the second floor with a roof collapse.
Two 1.75-inch lines made initial entry from Engine 4. Two master streams from 7 Truck soon followed. Chief 32, Rescue 8 and Engine 5 along with 1 Ambulance and Fire Police also responded. Mutual aid was called from the Selden Fire Department for the F.A.S.T. Truck.
The fire was labeled as suspicious and the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals, and Suffolk Police Arson were called and responded. Suffolk County Fire Rescue sent two Fire Coordinators and Public Information Officer Paul Llobell.
