Richard M. Cornelius Past Deputy Chief
On Sunday May 4, 2008 The members of the Forked River Fire Department said goodbye to past Deputy Chief Richard M. Cornelius.
Uncle Rich as he was known to those who knew him had served at Station 60 and the community of Lacey Township for 63 years. He was remembered by close friends and family as a man who always gave to others before thinking of himself and as someone with pride and dedication to the fire service. The fire department chaplain who had known Rich all of his life said he was one of those guys that was always first to house when the call went out.
It was the guys like Uncle Rich that set the standard for what we are today one member stated he will be sorely missed around the firehouse.
