Lawnmower fire halts traffic

Engine 1 knocked a fully involved riding lawnmower fire.

CHESTERFIELD, VA - Firefighters and county police were summoned to Old Centralia Road at Minneola on April 2, 2010 around 2:12 p.m. for a lawnmower on fire.

Engine 1, Battalion 1 and county police responded.

Crews arriving on scene discovered a riding lawnmower that was being pulled on a trailer fully engulfed in flames.

Hand lines and fast action quickly doused the blaze.

Firefighters were able to protect the vehicle.

The cause is under investigation.
