CHESTERFIELD, Va.-A brush fire in the deep woods behind a shopping center at Hull Street and Genito roads was spreading on April 4 around 2:30 p.m. when a call was placed to emergency communications.
Responding were Engine 24, Truck 7, Brush trucks 7 and 10, TSO and Battalion 4.
A detail along with the two brush trucks entered the woods amidst the thick brush, dried leaves and abundant pine needles. The fire had plenty of fuel and the firefighters had plenty of water and firefighting tools.
An aggressive attack from the firefighters soon conquered the stubborn brush fire. Overhaul was then initiated.
The cause is under investigation.
