Firefighters responded to a report of fire under a trailer.

CHESTERFIELD, VA - Fire was reported under a mobile home in the 7700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, on July 12, 2010, around 7:00 p.m.

Responding were Engines 3, 17, 11, DSCR 23, Chief 23 (DSCR), Medic 3, Truck 3, TSO, BTTN 2, BTTN 1 and county police. DSCR (Defense Supply Center Richmond) was dispatched as mutual aid.

First on scene reported smoke showing. Assessment revealed fire under the furnace area and in the duct work and insulation. A quick knock down was accomplished and only minor damage was done to the trailer. The cause was ruled as a furnace malfunction.
