Five inch supply line snaked through the trailer park.
CHESTERFIELD,Va-Tones sounded on March 23 around 11:26 a.m. for one of the most dangerous fires a firefighter can be called to, a mobile home fire. Tones sounded and crews were dispatched to 6811 Jefferson Davis Highway for a mobile home on fire.
Responding were Engines 3, 11, 17, Truck 3, Medic 3, Air Utility Unit, the Tactical Safety Officer, Battalion 2 and county police.
Scene upon arrival was heavy fire showing.
No one was home and the firefight was initiated as defensive.
Two propane tanks had ignited, the fire was knocked down and a Blitzfire portable monitor kept a steady flow of water on the tanks to keep them cool and from re-igniting.
Overhaul was challenging due to the extent of the burn damage in the trailer.
Crews stood by while the Fire Marshal's personnel began to search for a cause.
The Red Cross assisted the displaced residents.
The cause is under investigation.
