Car splits in half, driver airlifted

LACEY, NJ – On September 8, 2008 at 7:52 p.m. the Forked River Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident, northbound on the Garden State Parkway.

On arrival, Chief Kevin Flynn found two vehicles involved by mile marker 76.4. One was in the grass with minor damage and the other had gone off the road crashing into the trees. The crews from Engines 6021 and 6041 assisted EMT’s and searched for possible ejections.

Lacey EMS and Medics worked on the driver who was airlifted by Medevac 5 to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
